Nicole Formica-Schiller is a leading expert in the European AI and global innovation ecosystem.

Combining her entrepreneurial and industry know-how with in-depth expertise in AI, digital transformation, strategy, governance, and operational implementation. Including European AI regulation (EU AI Act) and geopolitical dynamics shaping technology, investment and the wider economy.
With over 20 years of international and national track record, Nicole provides guidance to Boards and executives in an increasingly complex market environment where technological dynamics, regulatory developments and economic competition are becoming ever more intertwined.
As an interdisciplinary expert, Nicole empowers leaders to make informed decisions about the complexity of Artificial Intelligence and data driven business models, to identify opportunities, risks, and investment potential at an early stage and to prioritise these accurately. As CEO of Pamanicor Health in Switzerland, she founded over 10 years ago one of the first global boutique advisory firms to combine AI, Digital Transformation, and Regulation with Life Sciences and Digital Health.
Her expertise informed policy discussions involving parliaments, ministries and commissions such as the German Federal Health Ministry (Health Forum for AI) by decision of the German Parliament, Data Ethics Commission, Digital Ministry of Bavaria, former Federal Chancellor and others. In addition to her appointments to various Boards and committees Nicole played a key role in establishing and scaling one of Europe’s largest AI ecosystems. On the external „Advisory Board Digital Science & Interdisciplinary Technologies“ of Paris Lodron University Salzburg (PLUS) in Austria, Nicole provides advice on the establishment and strategic direction of the new Faculty “Digital & Analytical Sciences” (DAS).

Before founding Pamanicor Health, Nicole pursued a successful career (Europe, US, Asia) at Nord Stream (Liaison Officer to the CEO), the global law firms Freshfields (IT / IP) and A&O Shearman as well as at Allianz. She graduated with a double degree as an Attorney-at-law from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Germany, and in economics. She also successfully completed the Public Policy Programme at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.

Mel brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience delivering transformative outcomes across the full private equity investment lifecycle working with leading PE firms. Supporting asset targeting, commercial due diligence, value creation planning, operational execution, and exit strategy.
For Boards and globally recognised organizations such as Envision Pharma Group, PPD Evidera (Thermo Fisher), Amgen, and Takeda, Mel is trusted for his operational expertise having held direct P&L responsibility, M&A transactions, and global biopharma blockbuster product launches. He has guided companies through IPOs, post-acquisition integrations, and large-scale organisational transformations across Europe, the United States, Switzerland, China, Japan, and Asia-Pacific.
A proven turnaround specialist and growth architect, Mel transformed a financially distressed consulting capability into a leading integrated provider of value and access, real-world evidence, and regulatory services, delivering 3x topline revenue growth and over 10x EBITDA expansion through organic means alone. He has further demonstrated an ability to scale businesses at pace, growing a division from 35 to nearly 100 FTEs within six months while simultaneously expanding service lines and accelerating revenue.
As a pioneer in healthcare AI and digital transformation, Mel led strategic acquisitions and integration of award-winning AI companies to drive technology-enabled medical affairs and value & access capabilities. He has guided value creation plans for an AI-driven cloud-native platform and a leading market access and pricing digital business.
His academic and research appointments included Assistant Professor at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, New York, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, New York, and Helen Hayes Hospital, New York, US.
Mel earned his PhD (Medicine) at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He completed his post-doctoral training in the Department of Medicine at Columbia University, New York, US. In addition, he holds an Executive MBA from the Lubin School of Business, Pace University, New York, US.
